Data insights: NMPA registration activity stats

1. How to verify a Chinese medical-device manufacturer before you pitch

Cold outreach to manufacturers works only when you have the right company and the right timing. Here is the fastest public-source verification path we use:

  1. Check NMPA registration numbers. The NMPA UDI database (udi.nmpa.gov.cn) publishes registration records. Numbers starting with 国械注准 are domestic registrations; 国械注进 are imported devices; the 械注 + province code pattern points to the responsible regulator.
  2. Confirm the legal entity. Cross-check the company against the national corporate registry (全国企业信用信息公示系统) using its unified social credit code — this confirms the Chinese legal name, province, and registration status.
  3. Look for an English identity. A manufacturer that publishes an English name, a working corporate website, or an export-facing page is more likely to respond to U.S. Agent / EU Representative outreach than one that does not.
  4. Check U.S.-market signals. If a company already holds an FDA establishment registration or lists export products, it is actively managing foreign-market compliance — a much better pitch target.

Doing this by hand for hundreds of companies is slow; that is exactly what the Radar automates (registry matching, confidence grades, source links on every record).

2. What fresh NMPA registration activity means for EU/UK representatives

NMPA publishes registration activity on a near-daily schedule. A spike in filings from a specific manufacturer usually means a product pipeline is moving: new device registrations, renewals, and category expansions.

For an EU AR / UKRP / ISO 13485 consultancy, that timing matters twice:

Combining NMPA activity with cross-market registry checks (e.g., FDA establishment listings) separates manufacturers that are truly export-ready from those that only sell domestically.
